Just that really. I'm really excited, but also apprehensive! We are going to Cyprus off all places Grin

Oh cool - enjoy! Grin

It's taken pretty much all my savings but I just had a shitty break up (all my fault sadly) and I so need some sun Grin

Too right - I saved for 2 years for sun!

DS(10) and I are off to Mallorca in July. It will be his first time abroad. We are going with a company that specialises in single parents though as I'm not brave enough to go completely alone plus I love paying practically double what it would normally cost

Good for you. I am taking my two on our first solo holiday next week not abroad but still its a week away - I can't wait... Have a wonderful time Smile

A good friend who is SO to two boys swears by the SPTC. or single parents travel club.been to Croatia, all around UK etc.good prices

I am a bit concerned about standing out amongst all the "happy families", specially after the break up but I'm going to pack my blinkers and just enjoy the sun!

DD is 6 and generally quite chilled out and I think she'll be happy to potter about the pools with me and hopefully go to kids club occasionally Smile

Oh well done! I keep trying to book with friends but it goes no where. What is the company you have booked through makemine ? I really want to go abroad but not keen on going alone just yet (DD is 19mo) so some support would be good :)

betterthanever · 31/03/2013 23:25

3month you will find yourself the happiest family there.
Have a brilliant time.

Me and my DS have travelled a lot for the last 8 years, we have a great time, every time. I have always loved to travel, my DS is my best travel buddy ever. Seeing things through their eyes too with no distractions is bliss.

I love going away with DS. He's 7 & we often go to London for a few days or camping locally.

We've been talking about going somewhere warm later in the year - he's never had a 'proper' holiday in the sun.

MavisGrind · 31/03/2013 23:36

Well done you! I took my 2 dcs away for the first time when they were 2&4. After the first initial "oh fuck, what have I done??" we had a fantastic time. We're off to the continent again this summer.

Have a lovely holiday Smile

stuffing, I have booked through Mango. They are excellent. Been in the UK with them twice before but now DS is 10 wanted to go abroad. Expensive nut worth it.

3MonthMaid · 01/04/2013 09:35

Teeny minor issue is that I'm not sure how to let the school know that DD will miss the first two days of term Confused Its not ideal as she already missed a week to go away with her dad. my name is mud at school for other complicated reasons already which is partly why I don't give a stuff

Do I ring and leave a message? What should I say?! That "due to last minute changes, DD won't be in until the 18th"? My main concern is that if they try and call and can't get me, they will ring ex Shock
