ex gives nothing towards the dc but does have them over night for 2 nights a week.

I've not pushed it as it was my decision to split but now my rent has rocketed meaning that I'm trying to find somewhere else to live without much luck.

looking at the child maintenance calculator he would have to pay approx £23 a week which would mean that i could pay my rent...

I'm not sure. part of me feels guilty and part of me feels that he should pay for his dc.

Do not feel guilty. He should be providing for his children. It doesnt matter whos decision it was to split. I dare say you had a good reason.
Could you ask him for a weekly/ monthly amount? If he says no then I would contact the CSA.

Meglet · 09/02/2013 22:00

Do it. They need a roof over their head.

Give him a chance to do it privately between you but if he won't do it go to the CSA. I've never had a problem with the CSA in 3yrs.

thankyou both.

we feel out last week about money as he told me i should be being careful of money which pissed me off when he doesn't contribute. so bit worried about bringing it up but think trying to talk first might be the best thing.

hes got a damn cheek! Good luck. If he says no I would say to him ok i will see what the CSA say.

cheesesarnie · 10/02/2013 16:04

i did it!

he actually seemed ok about it and yes he will! we'll see.

Good, glad he agree to take some of the financial burden of raising two children off you.

cheesesarnie · 10/02/2013 16:44

sorry!

Merl0t · 10/02/2013 16:51

so if you go through the csa would that be 23 per child per week?

frustratedashell · 10/02/2013 18:24

well done cheesesarnie!

cheesesarnie · 13/02/2013 13:24

no i think 23 a week is for all three rather than for each child. (don't be sorry btw!)
