Has anyone used one of the "internet" divorce options that are out there?
I have been to a solicitor and paid for proper legal advice. After going through our circumstances and finances she said that the split would be 2/3 1/3 in my favour. This would leave my husband in a mess and also while we have been together a long time and everything I have has gone into "sorting his life out" (his phrase not mine, though of course now I have given up and want to put our daughter first, I have "done nothing in all the time I have been here"). Also it would a long time and I would like out as quickly and easily as I can.
So I am hoping the legal advice will help me encourage him to move quickly and make him realise that me taking the savings and him keeping the house and equity is not unreasonable. The solicitor thought I was silly doing this and we should sell the house and me take more but I can sort things out for me and dd like this (it will be tight but easier to manage than the current chaos), and I don't want to leave him in a mess as dd still needs to have a relationship with him and that would be easier if he can stay put.
Am I being naive? Has anyone managed to keep solicitors out and things been amicable.
Can you use the internet options if children are involved?
While I no longer want to be married I would like this to all be over quickly and my main priority is to sort me and dd out. So is it quicker/easier (if we can sort money) to go for a legal seperation. While on paper he should be able to take on the mortgage money is a huge issue and I want to make sure that I am seperate as quickly as possible so I don't have any responsiblity if things start getting messy again.
Thanks
