Hi I'm new on here i'm a single mum to 3 children aged 7, 6 and 4. seperation from my husband is recent (a month), big adjustment. just wanted to say hello thought could be a good network so hi.

I'm Mum to 2 boys, 8 and 6. Been single since May, although me and their Dad weren't living together having separated Nov 09, started 'dating' again Aug 11, then split for good in May this year.

It's def a big adjustment, but you can do it, and there's lots of lovely lone parents here to chat to

I split from from my ex three months ago and its all been a bit crazy but I'm beginning to have more good times than bad so that's a step in the right direction! I have two little people and they are much more settled now as well

Good luck with it all and there are some really lovely people here who will talk you down when it all feels too much and pick you up when everything collapses, they really are great.

Do post if it gets too much and you need a rant, or you just need to natter.. Evenings and weekends can drag on sometimes, and theres always other lone parents about on here.

Hi there - welcome aboard! I've been this way for nearly 4 years now. You'll find here a great place to celebrate, cry, get angry or just natter. We all have good days and not so good days, so we all understand and are here to laugh along with/get angry about/hold hands. Here, it's friday night !

Hi, I've been single for nearly two years, but have been a lone-parent for the last 5 years or so and my ex was useless, so I'm used to doing everything on my own. I like being single, I've got no desire for a new relationship, which is just as well as my girls (6 & 9) keep me run off my feet. They spend every other weekend with their dad (and his new wife, he married someone after a 13 month long-distance/online relationship, and they have a half-sibling now) so I get very little time "off" but at least I get some. It's not easy being a lone parent, and it certainly isn't what I had planned when we decided to have our kids, but I'd not go back to the life I had with my ex for anything.

I wanted to say hello too. I'm also a newly (2weeks) single parent of a 6, 3 and 1 year old. I have good days and bad days. I get lonely and sad and its often the little things that set me off as they take me totally by surprise) like when someone asked me yesterday who was going to dye my hair for me now that my husband wasn't around to do it- how crazy is that?!!)
Some friends have been great, others haven't - it's been an eye opener. Trying to put a brave face on things. Kids seem ok but are in my bed every night.
Have name-changed for this new phase in my life, plus I feel a fool looking back at all my old posts- who was I to give advice to others?!!!
Hope someone can hand hold me and I'll do the same for you x

MsTitanium, it's very early days for you yet, hang in there, you'll find it gets easier as you get over the hurt and disappointment. Like you I'm an old MNetter returned under a pseudonym, a new life needs a new start sometimes. We'll be ok, you'll see.
