Don't let him scream. He obviously needs you right now.

The rest of your post / title doesn't actually make much sense, can you type it out again?

I can tell what we did if that would help? We used Angela Henderson's book, the Good Sleep Guide. It worked for me and my DD and helped us use her method of controlled crying where you pop back in, reassure and soothe then retreat. Repeat and repeat again. It's simple and easy to follow and cheap on amazon.

I'm a single mum too and I completely understand why you need your sleep! CC isn't for everyone but it did work for us.

Hope that helps, PM me if you need hand holding x

What about putting his bed/cot in your room? Then you may both get a full nights sleep? Lots of people do this, particularly outside the uk. I am in the uk though and it works for us.

Have him in bed with you! Nothing wrong with that. He is your baby boy, you're both on your own for now - so take him into your bed and snuggle up with him. i don't care who says Noooooo to this. There really are no right and wrongs. And it's lush sleeping with your little one.

post doesn't make much sense as i'm new to this and couldn't type all i wan't to so had to finish what i wanted to say in the message bit, reason why i don't sleep in same room or with him is because i wake up a good bit during the night and even if its to go to the toilet it wakes him, so doesn't work for us and queenofthepirates thanks for offer of hand holding!! he actually slept though last night!! woo hoo fingers crossed, feel like a new woman today!!..
