Can anyone recommend really good story books for children about living with one parent please? 5 yo struggling to come to terms with it all. Thank you.

Oh yes I was meaning to do a search for this. We were reading Owl Babies (obviously a bit young for a five year old!) and I felt a bit relieved we had atleast one book that featured a one parent family.

Are you looking for books that specifically deal with the issue or just feature one parent incidentally?

doubleyew - looking for books confirming positive experiences of single parent families, specifically single mothers. Had forgotten about Owl Babies, have got that in the book cupboard.

The Harry and the Dinosaurs book are set in a family with two kids, a mum and a gran. Gran lives with them - is that cheating?
