Lottery Win Question

marcopront · 10/08/2012 15:19

Hypothetical Question here.
Suppose I won a large sum on the lottery I would invest some of it for my daughter's future education. I would also put some in trust for my nieces and nephews. Should I also do the same for my DD's cousins on her Dad's side?

LOL. You do whatever you see fit :)

But no, I wouldn't.

chocoraisin · 10/08/2012 19:34

I would. But my ex's family have been nothing but lovely to me and my children, so I guess you just have to judge it on the kind of relationship you have/want to have with them (should the situation arise! )

workshy · 10/08/2012 19:36

if I won £148 million then yes I would

if I won half a million, probably not

Happylander · 10/08/2012 20:57

I wouldn't as they are horrible and have ignored my existence since Ex left for OW however, I would be incredibly immature and go to their houses with the big fat cardboard cheque so they could see it LOL

washingonawednesday · 10/08/2012 23:29

Well my ex specifically wants a 'financial separation' clause in our divorce. We are already entirely financially separated, it's specifically because he hopes to win the lottery and dosent want my 'greasy mitts' anywhere near it!

So no. No contact with exs family now. I love my nieces and nephews, but will probably never see them again. Let them get a cut of the exs lottery win...

hoards recent £6.20 euro win like gollum with 'his precious'

marcopront · 11/08/2012 06:32

I have to admit it would depend on how much it was. Also my ex and his family are from a developing country and so I would feel bad not given them some money.
I rarely buy lottery tickets so it is very hypothetical.

I wouldn't as they have very little to do with my DD's since the split.
There is no chance I would let my ex even sniff it, although I'd let him bow to me in my golden carriage as I passed by with my gigolos.Grin

FateLovesTheFearless · 11/08/2012 12:48

If I won 148 million I would probably offer ex money for him and his family. It's an obscene amount.

neverquitesure · 11/08/2012 12:50

Entirely up to you - but remember it's in the MN small print that you have to buy us all iPads too...

MrsJREwing · 11/08/2012 12:52

No..

I would set up something near them, like oxfams goat/chicken scheme.

HecateHarshPants · 11/08/2012 13:00

I would give to the people i love, regardless of their relationship to me.
