I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do if the csa haven't paid you.
I rang them yesterday regarding payment from last week which wasn't received. They said they had received the payment from my ex partner's employers on the 30th July and also received another payment on the 6th August. But I haven't received any of these payments.
They told me i'd have to wait up to 10 working days for these payments!
I've spoken to someone else this morning at the csa and asking if they can transfer the money into my account today but they said they don't do that.
I don't know what else to do.

They are lying. They can transfer it by bank transfer in a few hours if they absolutely have to. Or next day at the latest.

I have had this done a few times.

Ring up, and tell them that you know that their guidelines state that it should NOT take more than 7 days after they receive it.

I will try to find that guideline, and come back later. I'll need to feed the hamsters fire up the laptop though, can't link from the phone.

Argh! DC's nattering at me, I'll try to make more sense!

Their guidelines state that it shouldn't take more than seven days (not working days btw) after they receive the money from your Ex to pay it out to you.

It's deprivation of income for your child/ren, that's the phrase I was looking for.

Is your case a clerical one, with CSA Bolton, by any chance?

chopsieboo84 · 09/08/2012 10:13

Yes it is clerial and with CSA Bolton.
Its my daughters birthday tomorrow and looks like i'm gonna have to cancel her party now :(

Phone the bastards. They CAN pay you. Tell them that you will have to cancel your DD's birthday party.

I could just TELL it was a Bolton case like mine!

They are notoriously shite for paying out. It got to the point where I wouldn't allow for it in my budget and treated maintenance as a bonus when it did turn up.

The only way I have solved it? Got on better terms with my twatty ex and got him to pay me on 'maintenance direct', which still leaves the CSA able to collect any arrears he accrues if he doesn't pay, but means I get my maintenance on time, as he pays by standing order.

CouthyMow · 09/08/2012 10:42

I mean, he pays it directly into MY bank account, rather than through the CSA.

At Bolton, your case worker actually has to 'do' something on the computer to make the payment come out to you. If your case worker forgets, has holiday time, or is off sick, then no-one else does it for them, so you don't get your payment on time. Also if they work PT and your payment is due to be sent out on one of their days off.

It's shit, but that goes along with the case being at Bolton.

Try posting on afairercsaforall, they can give you AWESOME advice. Backed up with all the legislation to help you when you are on the phone to them.

Thank you for the advice. I've told them this morning that its my daughter's birthday tomorrow and they just kept telling me how sorry they are.
I've asked twice to transfer the money into my account and they keep saying they don't do it.
I'm gonna ring them back now and see what they say.
