Do I have to name my ex on DD's pre-school registration form?

He has nothing to do with her care, but sees her once a fortnight over the weekend. Until recently it was just Saturday, now it's going to be Sunday as well but not over night.

He would never be the one to drop off or pick up. I haven't even told him that she'll be going yet.

Is it a legal obligation I have to fulfill or just something that's for their records?

I don't put my ex's details on things like that as my ex is not involved and has never set foot in the school or shown any interest.

As far as I know it is not a legal obligation. IMO just no point as if the other parent is not involved and won't be dropping off or picking up.

I didn't put ex's details as they wanted her address of where she resided and as ex only has minimal contact due to the court order in place. If your ex isn't going to be dropping off or picking up then there is no need for the school to have his details.

AFAIK, no. I haven't put XP on anything since he was kicked out. He doesn't see the DC's anyway.

Yes, it is a legal obligation. Schools should be provided with the contact details of all those with parental responsibility by whoever applies for the place.
Whether he has weekday contact or not, he has the same rights as you to be involved in educational decisions. School will also keep him informed of your daughter's progress, which saves you having to provide copies.

Hmmmmm well dd's nursery just wanted the address of where she resided. They haven't asked about ex's address and they know I am a LP and know the situation as they wanted a copy of the court order.

I didn't even think of it as optional. They asked for her father's details, he's her father so I gave them his details!

Thanks all. As of last night things have got slightly more complicated with it all so I might not have a choice now. He's a big bully and I reckon he's now going to barge in and start trying to call the shots somehow Sad
