a nice place in Portugal or Spain that I can take my 11 yrs old ds to, for a week?
I am looking for somewhere near airports, near the beach, clean, have some historical and nice places to visit, self catering maybe and near to some shops and restaurants. and of course not very expensive.
advices will be really appreciated.

Faro and the Algarve in general. I used to live there, I dont know what the prices are like now as we used to live further inland, but it's still very beautiful, lots of history, the people are lovely.

There's a small town not far from Faro that begins with L...when I remember it I'll let you know, it has a huge market, lovely restaurants, a beautiful big main street lined with trees and flowers...it's just lovely.

If I remember there is a huge water park (mascot is a frog) that your ds would love. It's on a main road so not easy to miss.
