Feeling really deflated again today...

Nothing on the job websites again. I reckon i've got my cv looking good now, gap explained etc. I applied for several over the last few weeks, not even a reply from most, one interview cancelled. It's been years now...how much fecking longer is my unemployment going to last?

Every morning I get up and search, search, search...i'm bored shitless with it.

The folks on the work programme have helped me to a point, sending me jobs, sending me info on various bits and still i'm out of bloody work. I worked all my adult life and have nothing to show for it.

Completely pissed off.

Ach nothing I can say that will make you feel any better, really.

Does your JobCentre have any upcoming courses you can do whilst looking for work?

Just wanted to say 'I know how you feel' and to send sympathy. I haven't worked all my adult life though due mostly to health reasons. I am trying to think 'something will turn up' but it is so disheartening, I know. I am currently trying to think of something I can do from home, have you thought of working for yourself at all? No advice I am afraid, just lots of sympathy. It sucks.

I have thought of that Jay but really, what I do isn't self employed normally. I've heard all of the childminding suggestions but i'm not great with kids in general and doubt very much I could afford to childproof my house to OFSTED standards anyway.

I'm looking at courses but I cant fund them. The people who ran the work programme were going to organise me some voluntary work but they are a charity and have pulled out of the work programme as of this week so I have no idea who i'll be dealing with now.

Not sure what kind of work you do, but have you considered temping/job agencies....that's how I got back into full time work after an 8 year absence due to bringing my children up. Try to stay positive, easier said than done I know, something WILL come along....!! :)

TheMysteryCat · 12/07/2012 19:24

are there any access to education courses you can take, or do you have a degree? maybe do that via OU or local uni?

thedogsrolex · 12/07/2012 19:43

I cant really do temping lovemy, it's so difficult to get back on benefit when the temping ends (the shame), but friends have done it and had nothing at all for nearly two months.....I dont want to risk not being able to pay the bills.
