Pleased with myself

Just wanted to share with someone......

Have just put together a three shelved unit. Second hand, was in bits and has been cluttering up the floor.

I decided today to just get on with it. Took me 2 and half hours to do, my back is killing me and I have sore hands from screwing in the nails.

But Grin it is straight, not a bit lopsided and quite sturdy. And DD was on duty handing me the screws.

It may be nothing to some people, but to me it is a huge achievement and I am so pleased with myself.

Well done it IS a huge achievement. You'll be able to pile lots of stuff on it now and your home will look lovely and tidy.

woohoo !! Grin

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 12/04/2012 21:26

GREAT!!! Grin I took apart my petrol lawn mower last week, found the problem and mended it. So proud of myself.

Well done you too.

blackeyedsusan · 13/04/2012 00:54

no wonder you have got sore hands if you are trrying to screw in nails

well done. it is an achievement. it takes some thinking about when you are doing it on your own as there is noone to "hold this bit whilst I fetch that bit... "

bloody hell flat cap... now that is impressive..

MissMogwi · 13/04/2012 01:00

Well done Grin

Especially well done on the no swearing! I find that more difficult than building the thing!

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 13/04/2012 03:01

what I failed to mention blackeyed is that it took me 4 hours Grin

piellabakewell · 13/04/2012 07:31

Doesn't matter how long it took, you did it!

I'm going to play with my new hedge trimmer this weekend...watch out, shrubs!

blackeyedsusan · 13/04/2012 11:27

so what flatcap... you still did it. i have a good go at stuff but a petrol lawnmower would still be out of my competance.

ParsleyTheLioness · 13/04/2012 14:17

Well done you! Was only thinking the other day that there might be a market for running courses on how to do stuff involving Big Drills, car engines and stuff, for people who have never had to do it before, or could afford to pay other Peeps to do it for them.

rhibutterfly · 13/04/2012 14:21

well done Smile

AmIthatbad · 13/04/2012 14:52

blackeyedsusan No wonder my hands were sore Grin

< forgot the difference between nail and screws - ahem it's been so long since...........Wink>

...and I take my hat off to you Flatcap that would be totally beyond my feeble capabilities.

have spring cleaned the living room today, cushion covers out on the line, and am now going to have a go at painting my porch - I have been putting that off, but it is the smallest room in the house, so I'm going to give it a go.

Grin Am so happy today
