Wonder if anyone can help because im new to all of this benefit stuff!! Finally finish Uni this month and I currently dont work due to being made redundant last year, I am also a single parent to my 1 year old daughter, however I am currently living with parents whilst trying to save up for a house. I currently get child tax credits but was wondering if i'd be entitled to any other benefits. I am also currently looking for part time work. Any advice would be great thanks

Income support whilst your not working and working tax if your working 16 hours or more and I think this is due to change to 25 hours or more.
Also child benefit which you probably already know about.
You can go to your local job centre and book an appointment with the lone parent advisor, very helpful :)

What whoyouare said, except the limit for getting working tax credit is staying as 16 hours for lone parents - it's only couples who are going to have to work 24 hours or more to get tax credits.

You can also get housing benefit if you move out from your parents, but not if you live with them.

Thanks for both your help, I'll make an appointment with the job centre :)
