I suppose I belong on this board now, I've spent years on the SP board but I don't feel right over there now :(

DP is leaving us, well it's his choice but DS and I are moving out. DS is 8mo

Sooooo someone give me the lowdown on being a single mummy :-D

I'm sorry to hear that. From a personal point of view, within 6 months of leaving XH I was the happiest and most relieved person around. It's a lot less stressful when you only have 1 other person to look after. I hope you get on okay, we're here to listen if you need to talk.

Thankyou everyone. I'm moving out as the house we're in would cost too much for me on my own.

Since I made the decision I've been so much happier, stressed with trying to find a house though

Hi this is a great board. Always here if you want to talk or need anything so welcome

Sorry hit send too soon Smile I am a single mum to my goddaughter 14 and ds 4. My ds s father literally skipped the country when I found out I was pregnant so I have done the whole thing alone and can honestly say its the happiest I have ever been. It's tough sometimes but so so worth it and I have time to devote everything to my children. I'm sorry you've found yourself in this position have you had any luck with your house search?

Hey winter my dd is 7 months old! I also had an 18 month experience of being a stepmum. Much happier on my own with dd. I hated the wicked step mum role I was given. I regularly bump into my ex with a variety of different women and he blanks us. As you say the scary part is housing and finances. Good luck with finding a place to live. I want to sell up and find a new place away from my ex who currently lives very close by. xx

Hi, I am now single and have been for about a month now. I have 2 dds who are 3 and 2.

The best thing you can do is get into a new routine as soon as possible. Then its not too bad!

I have to say that when exdp had actually moved out I felt happier. Knowing that that stress had gone was great. I still have bad days when I feel lonely but not many now.

Good luck and keep posting if you feel low. I did and the people here have been so helpful Smile
