In two years. He drinks a lot and doesn't always think straight when on a bender. This coincides with a massive one.

Would you give another chance to get back on track or straight to the CSA. We have a private arrangement that has obviously worked for the past two years.

Also how long does it take for the CSA to turn it around. He is long term employed and very well paid. He is not self employed. Any thoughts and advice welcome.

Personally if he's only missed one payment in two years then I'd start off by saying something like "Oh, i haven't got any money yet. Can you check your bank in case something's gone wrong?"

Give him a chance to sort things out before using the CSA. Because often this just inflames matters and let's face it, they're hardly the most effective. The last thing you want is to piss him off for something which could have been an oversight and get nothing in return.

I'd give him another chance. Even with my useless XP he had a few chances to pay, but he refused to.

Once I started the case with the CSA we received the money within 6 weeks. No problems at all.

Could you ask if he'd be willing to set up a direct debit? Then he doesn't have to remember about it each month.
