What would be cool is to meet a single dad as a chum who has daughters, I have sons.

It would be nice if he chatted to my sons about boy stuff and I could go bra shopping etc with his daughters.

He did my shelves and I sewed on buttons.

But we were just chums and went home at the end of the day.

Never met a single dad though. A few married dads at playgroup and in the playground at school, but no one on their own.

Nor me :(

Honestly never met one single Dad in my life - do they exist?

I've never met an actual single dad either, come to think of it.

Seriously though - do you have a Skills Exchange in your area ?
We do and it's a god send.
Saves us a lot of money .
There are a few solo parents in our group , and they find it invaluable .
It's worth googling to have a look .

Line Runner - I have bureau skills and managed to trade them for 4 hours of gardening FROM A GARDENER who pruned stuff and shaped stuff last year.

Well i do know a single dad and he is one of my best friends and has been for the past 4 years (knew him before but not closely and our marriages ended within a month of each other and we just got talking one day at school).
He sorts out my computer, does bits on my car, helps with moving heavy stuff etc and has helped me decorate, and in return i fill in forms for him, do some sewing, make him cakes and even run his boys about if he is at work or busy. We also give each other general support/someone to bounce ideas off when you need it.
We also take the kids (well they range from 11-18 now) for days out and weekends away together camping cos we didnt want to do these things alone.
It works really well for us.

I knew a single dad 3 years ago,he has two boys. I was a single mum to one of each. I married him though so don't think he counts as a single dad anymore? Oh but he does the sewing not me! I know a couple of other single dads, they are becoming more common!
