Posted in AIBU - but seems to be creating issues.

And yet again, we've been let down. Sorry, just a rant. XH promised numerous times to get DS present that he really wants, I even said more than once to let me know if he wasn't going to get it as I would get it. This week XH has said he hasn't been able to get it - its nothing rare or out of the ordinary, but he's got one reserved, so he says, hmmm, due to track record I'm not convinced and am feeling very stressed now. I've checked online and they're in stock. Even worse, as one of my partners boys IS getting the said present as we've already bought it it doesn't bode well for Xmas day. Why my XH doesn't just go to the shop and buy it I don't understand, grrrr

I would buy it myself, keep it in packaging etc and then return it if he comes up with the goods.

Excellent idea from emmafrost there. Can you afford to buy the present yourself ie will you be in a bad way if XP neither buys the present himself nor gives you the money if you buy it?

blackeyedsanta · 19/12/2011 16:14

where are you going to get the money for it?

MrsS01 · 19/12/2011 21:07

i'd be into overdraft money, not a great idea :(

I would reserve it myself then wait until Christmas Eve to make the decision if you are going to get it make up for ex's stupidity.
