Hey was just wondering on average how much gas do you use ? In the last couple of months its seems to have rocketed. I've been using 20 minimun ! Really struggling on top of my daughters birthday, bills and xmas. I lost my job in august and I'm now on icome support. Looks like its goin to be a very cold xmas for us xx

£20 a week goes in the meter and that's about right for us, 3 bed semi.

GypsyMoth · 16/12/2011 15:17

Forgot to add, that's collecting a £5 a week debt payment too

Don't have mains gas,
Last winter used about £700 oil, £100 coal January-April + £30 a month bottled gas for cooking.
This year I have pretty much turned heating off except for first thing in the morning and bath time/bedtime, the rest if the time I am using the wood burning stove and open fire. So far sept-dec has been £250 oil, £130 logs, £30 coal, + £30 a month for cooking....
Indeed, role on summer!

Yup. £20 a week and that's me not putting it on as much as I'd like to. It's taking £3.60 p/w as far as I'm aware for debts.

My house is 2 bed ground floor flat but old, high ceilings and drafty. The stupid landlord ripped off the boiler insulation when fixing something but never replaced it and it's an ancient system. Think I'd use much less if it were a combi-boiler.

About £20 here, 2 bed terrace. It's really gone up compared to previous years, it bloody eats the credit!
