Ladies and gentemen/other lone parents....

What do you do when you want some overnight time, to stay with a new partner???

No family, or friends who would help, so should I get a babysitter?

Yes, I used an overnight babysitter when I was dating and when I first started seeing DP. It meant I could feel more relaxed and go out on dates just as an adult, instead of trying to fit him into our lives, only having him around when the kids were asleep or pushing him into days out with the kids when we were still at the early stages of our relationship.

It also meant I had to think carefully about whether I really wanted to go out on those dates, as it was costing so much (DP was lovely and after the first few dates he offered to pay for the sitter). I didn't start having him stay over until we'd been seeing each other about five months, so he could get to know me as an adult rather than just a mum.
