I am probably overthinking this but I have a first date on Friday with a man I met on a dating website. I have been single for two years since I separated from exh.
Dcs are 17 and 14, how did you tell yours?
I have been very lonely and am looking forward to my date (although it will probably be a disaster).
What do you all think?

The truth, you are going out for a drink with a friend and you will be back at such and such a time.

Why do you have to tell them?

If It was me (I should be so lucky!) I wouldn't tell them I was going on a date. I'd say I was meeting a friend.

I wouldn't tell them its a date either. I had been dating someone for nearly 5 months before I told my kids.
