Just told partner it's over I know it's the right thing but just having a crisis of confidence now! I'm with dd 4months 24/7 anyway with no support p anyway, due to p being a student and working. I'm going back to work ft in Jan so should be ok financially. Just having a panic.

Why is it over, what brought you to this decision?

ScaryFairy28 · 03/10/2011 23:21

There's just nothing there anymore, been heading to this since before dd was born.

Sorry to hear that it must be tough for you with DD being so young, and you doing all the care. Did he react when you told him or did he just accept what you said - did it sink in??

GreenMonkies · 03/10/2011 23:46

Of course you can do this.

Are you sure you should? Or need to? Have you actually talked to P, or just decided it yourself?

Take it easy, think carefully, but don't stay because you feel you have to.

If you need to leave then yes, you will be fine. As you say you've been coping on your own so far...

Do you have any family nearby?

If he is lazy and selfish and uninterested in his DD then you are better off with him out of the house - less work and less stress of hoping that he will suddenly turn into a grown up equal partner.

Being a single parent is not for the faint hearted. It will not be easy but you will be ok.

I was dead scared of the financial issues when I left my ex. It was fine, actually, even better.... now I have control of my finances we are doing better, with less money no doubt, but better Smile
