New step mum finding it tricky

My beautiful new step-daughter (8) is finding life difficult at her dad's home with me. She has talked about snogging her dad's willy and finding it sexy. Is this about 'competing' with me and nothing to worry about?

I would say yes. Freud had something to say about us being in competiton for the opposite sex parents affections and I guess this would be multiplied when a step parent is brought in to the equation. OR something very very serious to be worried about. I would go for the first unless anything else is said.

Perhaps she has heard playgroung talk/ watch topical programmes soaps and needs putiing straight about appropriate behaviour and the birds and bees talk. She mostly likely doesnt really know what shes saying and wuill be mortified as an adult

It's definitely something to worry about.

You need to tell her dad and her mother what she has said and they need to discuss with her where this idea has come from.

Put it like this, if an eight year old said something like that at school, then the child protection officer would have to be informed.
