I booked new year off! I haven't been out socialising of an evening for I can't remember how long so xH and I arranged months ago that he'd have the children; I've been invited to a party since before the summer . He agreed.

He rang last week to say he was going to book himself a trip away in January, I said "Don't forget about new year, will you?" He said he wouldn't, that he knew he was having the children.

Blithely announces over the weekend that he's booked his trip for New bluddy Year!

What a shame. Guess it's yet another reason (if you needed it), why he's an xh!

tell him that you will start packing the kids bags to go on holiday
as you assume he is taking them
as he said he was having the children for you

sorry but I would be cheeky about it

ps if he wants to be a twunt play him at his own game

Well, I did ask him what he was intending to do with the children as "as we agreed" I have every intention of being out.

He performed a sneery smirk thing and pointed out there was no way I'd abandon them (he's right of course).

I pointed out it's a good job one of us wouldn't dream of it.

Twunt.

could you get a babysitter in anycase so you could still go out?

That would make me see red and be very unreasonable/unflexible when he needs it - not very mature I'm afraid. Take note of this for future occasions...
