Put her in nursery because she's unsociable!!!!

Amongst all the other things he throws at me he is now saying youngest dd (1) should be put in nursery because she is unsociable!

Does he have any rights to make me do this???

She is NOT unsociable, she is just so very different to my eldest (whom both him and his family favour!) How dare he make such a statement when he doesn't know her! He left when she was 6 months and sees them every other week. I'm sure as far as she is concerned I dump her on a complete stranger as he NEVER did a thing with her when he was at home! She doesn't know who he is - what does he expect from her at such a young age??

If I chose to put her in nursery then I will do, but I WILL NOT BE TOLD TO DO SO by someone who only THINKS he knows his children!!!

1 year olds aren't particularly sociable anyway; the world centres around them (as it should).
loulounz, I don't know your situation but he can't make her go to nursery.
Does he have parental responsibillity? This can make a difference but I can't imagine how in this instance.

Presumably he would also be paying for every single penny of the nursery fees and expenses too? Somehow I doubt it.....

Moron... DD has done mum and tot groups, and played with my friends many children since birth, and she is still "antisocial" with lots of people even now

Argh, DD hit post... also meant to say that she probably just picks up on him being a git so doesn't like him!

This is nonsense - nothing in any book or articel I have ever read would suggest that putting a 1 year old in nursery would make her more sociable. If it makes her feel less secure then it will probably have the reverse effect.

Totally agree Twirlaround, DD1 was in nursery - it was a good nersury and nothing to complain about but when I gave up work to be SAHM I discovered my little girl was increditbly shy. She is now a very sociable and confident girl. Being at home with me made her feel more secure and thus more self confident.

I think perhaps your dd is very perceptive and chooses who she wishes to be sociable with At 1 yo they like to be with people they know so perhaps he needs to think about his role in this and spend time getting to know her better.

I have full care of the dd's. She does go off with him without any tears/problems but I think that's only because my eldest is with her as well, otherwise I think we would have lots of tears and clingyness.

It must be so confusing for her to be given to a "stranger" and taken away to visit more "strangers" (grandparents etc). Really wish I could stop this but I know it's "not in the children's best interests!"

If he thinks he can take the credit for how sociable my eldest is by spending the first 3yrs with her then he is sadly mistaken!! He was never there for her either - so that's down to her character (and hopefully a bit of my loving input) alone! (She would go off with anyone she is that social!) She has not yet attended nursery so it's not down to that either!

I know what he's getting at really - that I don't have a life at the minute (no change there!) and therefore not very sociable so teaching her bad habits! And also - get back to work b'tch so I don't have to pay you any more money than I have to!!!

I'm sure his mum has been having her two pennies worth - youngest WILL NOT go to her - cries straight away - but what do you expect when the woman plonks her on her knee and just sits with a stupid grin on her face - no conversation, no relating to her at all!! What does she expect??!!

It's not particularly recommended that children go to nursery for socialising until about twoish plus anyway. Anyway children are different!
