To cut a long story short, tonight there's a "do" on at DD1's school and I'm taking DP/BF.

It's the first "public" outing and I am crapping myself.

Why?? My dp has the dya off tomorrow for a car service and as a result will be walking with us to school. I couldn't give a crap what anyone thinks, and tbh it hadn't even crossed my mind. Are you worried people will gossip? Why do you care? I presume he's not your brother or something equally scandalous, so don't sweat it. How long has he been your dp? Is it appropriate to be taking him to school if it's a short term casual thing?

He's been DP for nearly a year.

I've kind of kept him low profile.

Kids have met him and are fine with him.

Ex is going to be there and is fine with it - he laughed

backstory here

I'm just very very nervous

You're blowing this way out of proportion. You know that. It's not nice if you know people are goign to gossip. But you know what? Fuck em. They'll just be jealous you have a nice man coming to support you and your dd. You're probably most nervous about your ex seeing you with another man. You said in your other thread you want to look ten years younger and 2 stone lighter. If that's for his benefit, then maybe you still care too much what he thinks. Your dp is with you for YOU.

I want to look 10 years younger and 2 stone lighter for me - I'm fat (I am on steroids for a medical condition)

And not to let DD down by being the fat frumpy old bird in the corner.
