AMIBU about ill children and access?

I've posted on here about access quite a bit so apologies to anyone who's sick of me moaning Grin

The girls are suppose to go their Dads tomorrow for a visit (at a nuteral meeting point a 40 min bus journey for me and a 2.5 hr train journey for him) but are unwell. DD1 has a cough and dioherra and DD2 is very wheezy and likely to get the cough! I've just spoken to my ex to ask him to come to mine to have the girls as I'm reluctant to travel with them and for them to be out for the day (6 hrs). He has stated that an extra 40 mins is too far and I shouldn't be trying to block his access. The girls have been ill on and off since Xmas (my doc says its just one of those things and they should pick up in the summer) so I know he's fed up of changing access cos their ill but its hardly something I can fix!

AMIBU to expect him to travel that extra 40 mins? Or AMIBU not to want to travel with them?

would you travel with them still if it were to visit a friend or go on holiday?? would they be ok to do those kinds of trip?

If I felt my DD was too ill to see XP, I would refuse on the grounds she is ill.
OTOH, you have suggested a reasonable alternative to your XP.
YANBU to refuse to travel with poorly DC for your XP's benefit. Access is supposed to benefit your DC, not your XP. It is your DC who have the right to see XP, not the other way round.

how many visits have they missed this year?

MonkeyandParrot · 18/03/2011 21:31

ILoveTiffany - it would depend, it was i was going to a friends house where i could pop them into bed when i got there then i would travel. Its more he on a day trip thats bothering me. And they haven't missed any visits just rearranged them. I think I've rearranged twice since Xmas so 2 visits out of 6.

I'm crossing my fingers that the drugs I've poured into them a good nights sleep will chase the virus away.

How did it go today MonkeyandParrot?

MonkeyandParrot · 20/03/2011 14:56

Thanks for asking portaloo - actually pretty good :-) Their temps had dropped so I sent them and he was on time at both hand overs and didn't ring me once all day! If only he remembered to feed them I would be completly happy.....

tbh if you're saying they've been ill on and off since xmas and it's only a cough and the like then it really does sound like you're being awkward. DS has a runny nose etc most of the time for example so it's always possible to say there's something wrong, but it doesn't really sound like the sort of thing they need to stay away from their father for
