Kids are only with me at the weekend

Hi

Am I still a lone parent? I was the opnly breadwinner in the family so when we split up it made sense to leave my ex with the house and the kids - I could not look after them and do the job I do and I could not afford the house they have (not huge or anything!) and the enormous amount of money kids appear to cost without doing this job.

I head off on a Sunday evening when the ex comes back from his girlfriend's and come back to them on a Friday evening after work. I come to their house because we have nowhere else we can really go.

Is there anyone else like me out there?

I've been having the kids every weekend for a good number of years now, I see it as just a way of the children spending half their time with one parent and half their time with the other. And they don't have they see each parent often and regularly.

However, I don't share the family house, that really doesn't sound ideal!?!
