Hi All,

Just looking for a bit of advice, after a long fought and expensive battle with the ex an agreed amount of days was arrived at and signed off this Jan.

For various reasons none which I can fathom ex has decided to reduce the amount agreed on the Consent Order!

Whilst I don't mind having care of the dcs more I was wondering what is the Legal perspective on this?

Thanks for any advice you may have.

Depends on what your court order says. Often it will say something along the lines of that you will make the DCs available for contact between x & x. There's no requirement for him to have to turn up. Only you must make them available.

At the end of the day, no court order in the world will make him have the kids if he doesn't want them.

A very expensive lesson I learned is that sometimes the ex doesn't actually WANT more time....they just want to save face in front of friends/family so they can tell everyone they took you to court and fought the good fight. My lesson cost me £5k before my ex demanded less time than I originally offered her when she kicked off.

Even now years later, in her airbrushed version of history I stole the kids from her yet if I ask if she'd like the kids for an extra weekend, she says no since having them two weekends on the run is (and I quote) "too hard" Hmm
