I live abroad with my husband and I have heard about the changes but mainly via rumour not fact and I am keen to know as my ex husband is not the "paying" kind without a deductions of earnings order in place. I can't find anything, so think I must be looking in the wrong places.

Barr that I hope everyone is well, and want to say that you can find decent men out there, just be patient. I was single 7 years before I met my husband.

Me xx

don't know about the changes, but had to say am about as interested in a new husband as I am in a round of golf
having a partner is not something everyone wants

Oh dear. If those changes come into force I will have alot of trouble getting anything from my ex. Should imagine this will be the same for many. How depressing.

ninah, I had to laugh at this as I was exactly the same as you until I met my hubby. My ex made my life hell (not an understatement). Your right in that not everyone wants new men, or women for that matter.

I have spoken to the feckers at the CSA today about something else and they said that "not everyone" was going to be asked to be reviewed.

I'm writing to my MP and responding to the DWP via their website about this.

The more that complain the better. My mum has printed off the whole consultation so we can pull it apart sentence by sentence.

I hope Gingerbread are able to do something too.

gonzo, not everyone? how will they decide? did they say?

well done meglet-me too!

Gonzo33 · 25/02/2011 20:21

Well, the pleb on the phone said that if the ex is paying (as mine is by deductions from earnings) that they are proposing to leave them alone, and the one's that are not they will reassess apparently. This is not set in stone yet though. I understand that they wouldn't be able to reassess everyone, but this is going to be a nightmare.

thanks gonzo-thats interesting.

i wonder if i phoned up, if i'd get the same answer? i might try next week. i'm suprised they are saying stuff already given that the so called 'consultation' period [which it obviously isn't] isn't over yet Hmm! speaks volumes doesn't it.

Gonzo33 · 26/02/2011 04:46

Well, to be fair I did ask as opposed to the information being volunteered. The pleb didn't really have any choice but to answer my questions on it because I didn't give him a choice Blush He did say that they don't have any more information on it because the law has not been passed yet. I suppose we can only hurry up and wait really.

Oh my god I just read the gingerbread link and I am astounded!! There is the most obvious issue of RPs not being able to get any child maintenance of course but what about the less obvious issue of NRPs not having support..?!

My DPs ex hounds him for money all of the time despite him paying more than twice what the CSA guidelines suggest. He is considering going down the route of using the CSA so as to finally be free of all the emotional blackmail that goes on due to their 'private agreement' He can't be the only person in this situation. What a load of old bollocks... we get NOTHING for our taxes anymore.

Now I have seen this on top of the cuts in services for DV victims I really don't know what will become of this country.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 26/02/2011 10:44

bloody hell - are they having a joke!!!

7-12% deduction from the RP's money they're supposed to get and 15-20% charge added to the NRP's???????

gillya · 26/02/2011 16:07

Hmmmm....the DWP pdf link did not make pretty reading! However it did encourage me to email them my thoughts and questions - it's going to take them years to read the responses if they are all as long as mine Grin

Jmum85 · 28/02/2011 22:22

For those of you who haven't seen this-
I set up a petition against the proposal

www.ipetitions.com/petition/taxingkids/
Please sign the petition and encourage others to sign too!

Gingerbread have now included a link to my petition on their website. Where it says "Step 4" sign this Mum's petition- that's me! :)

Re cases not being reassessed - the Gvnt consultation paper says that every current case will be closed down and then people will have the chance to reapply to use the new system. In cases of domestic violence the fees will be waived but the case will still be moved to the new system.
