How do I find out how much ex is earning to work out maintenance payments?

He didn't pay anything for over a year, then said a random amount which we put into the csa website and agreed on an amount. But I don't think he was honest about his earnings, does it just have to be what he says?
I don't really want to go through the csa or whatever it is now. Also just had a bill from my solicitor and think I may have to give in and just agree to splitting assets 50/50 as I really can't afford the bill.

What you do is get a newspaper with cut out eye holes...

or, jsut phone the csa and ask them to sort it out. If you prefer wait until you have your 50% and then do it. Unless of course you think you might be better off otherwise, I don't really understand your hesitation, why did you agree? csa wil ask for pay slips, if they don't get them they will go to inland revenue for income.

Also, might be worth finding out if you can get legal fees paid for you, I forget what its called but I bet someone else can help

My XP told me that he'd worked out the amount he should pay in maintenance but I didn't think he was being honest so I took it to the CSA. Amazingly, once he'd submitted his payslips, the CSA worked out the amount he had to pay was over double what he'd told me!

The funny part is XP is an accountant - I guess he's just not very good with numbers.Hmm
