What do you all do for your DCs birthdays. H and I are on semi speaking terms due to necessity however my family hate him. (He lied and cheated!)

Last year we had a family party in the house. Dont think that that is possible now. Really dont want an atmosphere but hate the idea of her having two parties with different family members.

Any ideas?

Cinema or activity DC's will enjoy but where you can sit apart and keep conversation to a minimum?

Depends on age, we are past the party stage (13 and 11 already). So far it's been possible for them to wake up in one house and then transfer at some point during the day and spend the night at the other house. We're barely on speaking terms and I'm dreading DD2's confirmation next month. I won't sit with him in the church, DD2 will be with other candidates, tbh don't know where DD1 will sit and don't want her to feel awkward.

Definitely would not have a party at home with ex there, better a public place - soft play or similar.
