Hello there! I have been a memeber of BMC for a few years and thought I'd jump ship and this is my first post on Mumsnet :)

I am a single mum of a little boy (6). I work full time and don't know quite how i cope.

looking at the thread on holidays with interest. Just wanted to say hi!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hello, I've got a little girl who is nearly 6, I also work full time and have just moved out of London so I can afford a third bedroom for a live in au pair as I have no idea how I managed on my own for two years!

Is BMC the Bad Mother's Club? What made you jump ship?

Pseudocream · 04/01/2011 21:30

ahh i'd never jump ship it is my homeland but wanted to say hi and also check this place out too :)

i live in Swansea have a 3 bedroom house (soical housing though - like rocking horse poo so really lucky) but alas no au pair - although my mum has moved here recently and thank my lucky stars for after school club!

Love to live somewhere rural though - hate the city - although not as big as the big city!!! :)

thanks for posting :)

Hi, welcome to the boards.
I agree rural is lovely, but no child care, long expensive commute, and few friends nearby for help or support does make me wonder if we might be better in a slightly less rural place.

Spero · 04/01/2011 21:45

Its the whole support thing isn't it? I wish now I had investigated more seriously the idea of getting together with some other single mothers to support each other - but would be hell if we fell out I suppose.

yer true and thanks for the welcome :) I would ideally love to live on the Gower but uness I am an organic farmer or a ceramicist who had billions of money I doubt its gonna happen - ho hum! we can dream though!!! :D
can be isolating - its good living in a city when you need shopping and going out and hooking up with people for deffo.
just still have a dream about livinglike the Good Life :D
