Like the fact that I want a drink of pop but I can't open the bottle.

Not a maor problem I know, but I feel like death warmed up, and have done since xmas eve, my house looks like an explosion wnet off in a toy shop and I am bored, lonely and thirsty.

I have tomorrow to sort out the mess and then I am back in work for 2 days.

i remember feeling very embarassd once when i had to ask my neighbour to open a jar of pasta sauce for our dinner. i felt irrationally inadequate and for a few days dwelled on the fact that tehre would be things taht wouldn't happen in our family because there was no 'dad' there. but then i wised up and gave myself a kick up the bum. i try and tell myself i can do anything their dad would have done, and lots of it i do better. can you poke a hole in the lid with a corscrew or scissors?

BertieBottlesOfMulledWine · 27/12/2010 23:23

Have you got a rubber glove? I always find wearing one makes things easy to open.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 27/12/2010 23:25

I tried the rubber glove, which does normally work, but not this time. I think this cold has zapped my strength.

If it wasn't so late I would knock next door and ask them.

Will try again in a minute.

i used to put them in teh door jamb but it ruins the paintwork and dents teh woodwork.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 27/12/2010 23:28

would you happen to have a vice grip in the house?

TheOriginalNutcracker · 27/12/2010 23:29

I was full of sympathy & suggestions until I read what you were trying to open - frankly, you'd be better off not being able to open it & have Baileys make a nice cup of tea - that stuff is minging!! bleurghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Have you had it before?

Rubber gloves, damp tea towel etc

But yes, it is always the 'little things' that tip you over the edge :(

TheOriginalNutcracker · 27/12/2010 23:44

Yes I have had it before lol. I know it is full of crap but I am a firm believer in having what you fancy when you feel like shit.

Don't normally have fizzy pop in the house, only got for over xmas and ny.

ChippingIn · 27/12/2010 23:55

LOL - I didn't mean it was 'full of crap' it just tastes like crap!! But if you like it - then Vimto away!! and yes, when you are feeling like shit - have anything you like!

Fanta is a vast improvement :)

You don't have to explain your fizzy pop buying to me Grin

BertieBottlesOfMulledWine · 27/12/2010 23:58

Ooh I love fizzy vimto Grin

My mum once ran down the road in her dressing gown and slippers to ask the postman to open a jar of marmalade when she was newly a LP. :)

Harebell · 28/12/2010 00:08

Hot water on the lid works

beingsetup · 28/12/2010 09:11

nutcrackers also good - although they ruin the seal.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
