ooo im in watford, so not too far, but i work so i dont know if id be able to get there depending on what you're planning to do. good luck though with it!

prettyfly1 · 27/09/2005 13:17

hey guys. yes everyone who wants to can join. i am sorting a venue at the moment. i would like to try and develop things like a toy library, meet and greets, links with other groups in the area, and very very strong links with the council, benefits office, colleges, shelter, relate, councelling groups, health centres etc in order to give single parents the chance to access vital information quickly and easily instead of fighting through treacle to try and find what they need. also talking to places like driving schools to negotiate discounts as we all know hwo difficult it is to afford those things but how much easier our lives are with them. spursmum, it is really nice to hear from someone around here!!!! what do you guys think is an evening or a weekend morning going to be a better time. also i want to set up an individual website so each mum (and dad!) can contact each other and chat outside of group. anonymously if necessary for a chat.

prettyfly1 · 10/10/2005 13:14

hi - yeah coming together nicely, have a choice of two venues but am needing feedback on what times people think would be most appropriate to hold the group!

OP posts:
honeypot01 · 10/10/2005 19:10

what times you got in mind and wheres the venues, well done girlie!!

prettyfly1 · 13/10/2005 13:48

hatfield, both in the centre of town as are easily accesible. one is of a thursday evening (early) and one is a saturday day time. not sure what is best. i want something accessible to everyone, may of us have to work and should not be penalissed which is why i picked those times but so not sure.

Jess234 · 12/11/2005 18:21

Hi Honeypot,

sorry it takes me so long to reply, i only get on the internet once aweek when visiting parents.

I used to live in Waltham Cross, so not far. i lived in a private rented place and the landlord sold it so had to move, it was a shame because my daughter and i had settled.

Hope your well.
Jess

honeypot01 · 12/11/2005 21:24

hi Jess

Thats a shame u had to move. How old ur daughter, my lil boy was 4 in Sept, starts school nxt sept. Luckily i got a council flat, and my dad been doing lots of work on it for me. Hope u all have nice weekend xx

Jess234 · 13/11/2005 12:25

Hi Honeypot,

She is 2 years old. Due to start pre-school soon, still trying to find one, it will be so strange leaving her. There was a really good one in my old area, and i knew all the staff so was happy to send her there.

I am registered on the council list, but as you probably know it can take years to get anywhere.

Anyway, speak soon
Jess

honeypot01 · 14/11/2005 21:09

hi Jess

Yep does take a long time on the housing list, temporary accommodation in Enfield has now gone up to 5yrs, dont think they have enough properties, more families needing accommodation than theyve got. Luckily i got my perm flat 2.5yrs ago.

Hope ur all well x
