Boiler replacement schemes??

Hello fine ladies

I would be so pleased for any help with this issue.

I am on WTC as I am self-employed. I used Warm Front two years ago for cavity wall insulation and loft insulation which was great.

However my boiler is on its absolute last legs and although I have a service plan with British Gas I don't think it will last much longer i.e. it breaks down every 10 days they have been three times since I took out the plan over the past two months.

Who do I approach about a subsidised scheme to get a new boiler as I have absolutely no savings and am quite heavily in debt. I am a home owner and have a tiny mortgage but it is the debts that are crippling.

I have decided to contact Warm Front tomorrow to see if I can pursue them again although I am not convinced they are even in operation I have their number from their website.

I live in the East Midlands and am with EON I guess I could ring them also??

I would be so grateful for any help.

Thanks everyone in anticipation!

As far as I understand, the boiler replacement scheme's fund was depleted very soon. So, unless it has been brought in again this year (doubt it, considering the conservative's budget cuts).

So I guess your best bet is warm front again. Having said that, the waiting list is more than 6 months.

The service plan with British gas allows you not to pay the £50 fee per visit if you pay slightly more a month, when my boiler was breaking down as often as yours is, that was, unfortunately, the cheaper of two evils.

I used warmfront in April - they were fab! just keep phoning them up and say you'll take any cancellation appointments and you'll get it done really quickly. Probably to stop you phoning Grin!!

I am on WTC, lone parent to young kids and have been told that I qualify under the Warm Front Scheme but this suggests you need to move quickly.

I just got my new boiler and STILL can't believe it is free, it's brilliant but it took just under a year from applying. Good luck and keep chasing them!!
