I'm not good at talking to men socially but this was classic and have to tell someone. After catching two mens eyes all night on the way out I say to the less attractive one - hello is this your local he said yesss why I said because I think you look like a lovely person and would like to see you again (not quite verbatim) and the answer was oh um well that's nice but I'm married and it's my friend (oh yes the attractive one) that likes you

I ran out

Sigh I feel SO embarrassed how do you chat up men at nearly 40

I think you did well :o

I am 24 and have been with DP since I was 14 so I would NOT have a clue what to do with myself. The main thing is you have the courage to speak to them, I have seen so many people who can't and to be fair surely that's atleast half the battle?!

Next time you see someone you like just go over and say Hi and get chatting then drop in that you would'nt mind meeting up if they fancied it. Maybe that was the only flaw you perhaps jumped in before all was explained but heyho, we live and learn! :o

But his friend liked you! so clearly he was trying to catch your eye so that you would come over and chat to them. Like mamadiva said you did well. Christ knows what I would do, get pissed and hope for the best I expect Grin

Go back tomorrow or next Sat night! The guy obviously wants to talk to you! Well done for speaking to the first guy though, I'm impressed.

lol I just remembered I wrote this!

Well you have to start somewhere! The pubs last night is a sort of upmarket gastro/local and attracts people 30+ (most look like extras from the armstrong and millar show but still)

Funnily enough another of the group was sitting next to me when I took my ds to swimming club - needless to say I oozed charm and made sophisticated polite conversation - wellll sat there chatting determinedly to friend on other side occasionally head sinking into hands in hangover and shame Blush

It is so hard to meet men but am making a resolution for 2011 (am going to just practise til xmas)that am not going to wait for knight to cut down my thorns and sweep me off my feet (it has been 10 years after all) but to smile, be friendly and funny to knights or frogs and run away quickly and move on before explode with shyness like a woman totally happy with herself

anyone want to join me? Grin Could be like having a Man Watchers Club!
