I'm sure i dont need to go into all the details of my current court case because im sure there's loads of you that have read my story before about violent alcoholic ex etc etc failed drunk and drug tests etc etc (boring boring boring I hear some of you think!). but I am in an awful state over the fact that yesterday cafcass where supposed to have made a report for the courts but i have never met with a cafcass officer neither has my son and as far as im aware neither has my ex :s so can a report be made? also does anyone know if a risk assessment that clearly has been mislead and proven false still be used in court? will be really thankful for all the feedback.
thank you

Hi, I didnt want your post to go unanswered.

We were waiting for a CAFCASS office to be appointed for 10 weeks, when we went back to court because the officer had never met us, nevermind doing a report the judge gave an adurnment(if thats how its spelt). Luckily for is, My DP and hios ExW came to an ageeement finally, but had that not happened the judge wouldnt make a contact order until the report had been filed.

Hope this helps. I shouldnt worry too much but if you are really worried id check with your solicitor.

CAFCASS get a report done on time?! Hahaha
Sorry but that is funny, and not in a good way either :(

I suggest you check out the OFSTED repost on your local CAFCASS. If it's anything like our local one (and most other's I've ever loked at) it'll be rubbish.

The CAFCASS officer can not give a recommendation because they have not seen you. I would suggest you can object if they attempt too. It's more likely they will simply ask the judge for more time. The hudge will probably be very annoyed with them too. But it's not unusual for CAFCASS tbh to not have done what they should have by the deadline given.
