Just come back from a sleepover at the British Museum, with ds and friend in tow - well, me in tow I suppose as it was for them. Anyway, super-fit dad (obviously even more out of his mind than me as he was with 3 girls)kept staring at me and started to chat a couple of times. Me, having spent the past 3 weeks intensively working my way through 'Wolf Hall' (600+ pages), clearly thought that I was in the tudor era and did no more than smile sweetly and look demure - I think that was what I did anyway. One thing that may have prevented me from acting normal: when he looked at me (stared), he didn't smile so I was hardly going to start giggling away. Oh, and the fact that it's a family place and not a singles bar... Conclusion: I am a desperate woman. Yes, he looked very attractive, he had put himself out to do something interesting with his daughter and her friends and he was making remarks about best angles for picutres etc during the event and had a very good camera making him seem pretty cool - I like photography myself. BUT, come on now! Who cares and what do I care? Well, I do care that I felt so 'out of practice' and didn't know what to do with myself. I don't want a long-term relationship, I don't want to live with somebody, I don't want any more babies. I just want a date with a nice, attractive and intersting man. That rules out everyone at work then.
