I am a single mum; my son is now 22 but he never met his dad and looking at the threads under this heading brings a lot back. Now I miss it, he is all grown up, but I am now doing a creative media course and looking back at this element of his upbringing. I am white and he is black, so I tried using the media to give him positive images about his identity and to raise issues. But I have no idea if it was any good. I have discussed it with him, which was lovely now I really want to find out what other mums in the same situation do or did. I am happy just to have chats online about this, or I have a questionnaire if anyone wants to fill it in, or I have a blog so I can be contacted there too. Or also happy to work on a joint media project with someone on this. Would really like to know how you approaching this?
