What is the best way to make friends at age 50 years old ? I live in London. I have no friends in my age group.

What are you interested in?

I made friends in London at 50 by volunteering at my local cat rescue & getting involved in women’s rights campaigning.

Why don’t you have friends in London? Is it that you’re newly living there?

Perhaps making a little more effort in conversation?

You’ve asked for advice, @Suebae - but given absolutely no context other than your age. What is your situation? What sort of work do you do? What interests do you have - books, travel, sport, religion, astrophysics, architecture?

I can tell you that I opened up a whole new world through doing a postgraduate degree in middle age. Is there a qualification you might pursue, for fun or ambition?

You need to put yourself in a situation where you are regularly meeting the same people, so volunteering, or some sort of club
