hi, I only just found this forum randomly and ended up reading loads on here so yeah
I'm from Poland living in London and honestly it's kinda lonely sometimes. like everyone has their people and you're just there trying to figure things out and everything is so expensive it actually stresses me out. even small things just keep adding up
don't really know what I'm expecting posting this just felt like saying it somewhere I guess
anyway yeah hi

Hi, I do think London is quite difficult to move to as an adult working - probably like most big cities. I moved here as a student (from another UK city), which I think made it much easier as I was immediately with lots of people who wanted to make friends and discover the city.
Have you tried meet-ups? You can find groups of people online who want to do similar things to you in your area in real life - whether that’s walks or cinema or a quiz - and often they’re looking to make friends so that can be a way to meet people. Otherwise, doing a course - in the evenings or whenever - is often a way to meet people.
It does take a while to find your place, but you will. It takes a long time to make proper friends anywhere new and through all parts of life friendships evolve - I lived centrally for years and had friends across London and since having kids live in the suburbs and have more local friends as well as the ones spread across the city.
In the meantime, I hope you’re being made to feel welcome. I know Londoners aren’t famed for being welcoming, but (in my experience) if you need anything just ask and people will generally be happy to help - they’re just not quick to offer as it’s such a populated city, people try to give each other space.
The expensive thing, I can’t offer any help with, aside from to say, you’re right!
