Where to park to get tube to Wembley

I have managed to get last minute tickets to see Coldplay on Friday. We will be driving in down the M40 from Birmingham. The carparks close to the stadium are all full so I’m thinking that we park and get the tube. I don’t know London at all. Can anyone recommend where we could park that’s close to a tube station. Thanks

Stanmore

Park at Stanmore - large car park and jubilee line straight to Wembley Park. Enjoy it!

Pinner station also has a car park, then get Met line straight down to Wembley Park.

Try the JustPark app

Hillingdon tube station is just at the bottom of the M40. Check for tube strikes though. They have been going on all week this week. If there is a tube strike, you could check the Chiltern Line mainline trains from Beaconsfield which is at Junction 2 of M40. It’s a direct line to Wembley.

Yeah, we use JustPark a lot. Paid £13 last week for Coldplay. Was about a 20 minute walk.

Get off a High Wycombe and park in Duke Street car park (the back of the station). It cost us £2.20 the other night and the train goes direct to Wembley. No bother with tube strikes then (though they should be finished by then). Fast train to Wembley, come out at the end of the concert and make your way to the yellow line to come back again. We had a bit of queuing but were back in Wycombe by 00.15.

Park in a street in Eastcote just down from tube station (just off Field End Rd). Strike will be over by 8am on Friday morning.

I was going to say the same as the previous poster. Come off the M40 at junction 4 High Wycombe, down the hill on the A404 towards Wycombe town centre and the train station. It’s the Chiltern line and trains stop at Wembley stadium, up the steps and you’re right near the entrance, very easy.

Thank you, lots of options to look into. My only worry is if everyone has the same idea and the carparks are full!

Just another thought, the Chiltern line goes all the way between Birmingham (can’t remember which station) and Marylebone and stops at Wembley stadium maybe you could get the train all the way?

Teasesall · 10/09/2025 23:26

There’s plenty of parking at Wycombe station and even if that is full there’s another multi-storey nearby in Easton Street.

Silverstag · 10/09/2025 23:32

@TeasesallI have looked at the train all the way but I’d have to drive to the station this end and it’s just easier to try and get most of the way in the car. I do think the High Wycombe option looks really good.

The only thing you need to be mindful of coming into high Wycombe is timings, the HandyCross roundabout (jct 4) can get snarled up after school times especially on a Friday, and there are two large secondary schools at the top of the hill down to the station so traffic get busy there too. Ideally, I’d suggest getting through there before 3ish as it can take a while to clear. Depends what time you need to get there for really.

Why don't you use a park on my drive app? Then you know that you will definitely have somewhere to park.

Thanks all, we decided to drive to High Wycombe and get the train in. It worked perfectly - lots of people had the same idea as the train back was packed! Thanks for your help. Had a great night.

Hi - out of interest, how much were the tickets? Thank you

Silverstag · 13/09/2025 12:36

@Tamegaassume you mean the train? They were a bit more than I expected. Came to about £38 for the two of us.
