Restaurant for 40th birthday

Looking to take a mate out for their 40th birthday in London. Looking for ideas and inspiration of somewhere nice/different/special to go for lunch or dinner at a weekend. Or even an experience of something. Any ideas much appreciated!

sushi samba or duck and waffle would be my go to.
flat iron steak house in Shoreditch also excellent

Joia at Battersea Power Station - can be combined with a wander around the shops in the Power Station and/or Battersea Park. Or there are plenty of less high end restaurants there too.

Not necessarily high end food but dans le noir is an experience!!

I really want to try Six by Nico. Yes I know it's not as posh as some of the suggestions you are going to get, and it's a set meal but the whole concept appeals to me. The current Alice in Wonderland meal looks great. And you can do a paired wine or cocktail selection if you like.
