How to get from the tower of london to horse guards?

Just that really, I'm taking my mum to the tower of london to see the poppies and we would like to go to horse guards. Does anyone now how to get there from the tower?

Number 15 bus to Charing Cross and walk the rest of the way?

Do you know that you have to pay to go into the Tower to see the poppies? They are not outside the walls like they were last time, and I know a few people who were disappointed. The entry fee is I believe about £35 now, so not cheap unless you were planning to spend plenty of time at the Tower

If you're both fully mobile I'd walk along the Thames to London Bridge Station. I'd take an overground train to Charing Cross (2 stops). Then I'd walk through St James's Park to Horseguards. You can see a little bit of London while you walk.

Go by Uber boat from Tower Bridge to Westminster Steps, then it's just a short walk up Whitehall to Horseguards, with quite a few points of interest along the way.
If you Google Uber boats there is a map and lots of information.
