Hi Hive mind ,
my neice has been chosen for an apprenticeship in saville row. She will be moving from Scotland. So where would you recommend to stay ?
I am imagining a flat share or a room in some one’s home.

thanks

congratulations
What’s the budget? She will likely not be able to afford zone 1 saville row
Is it linked to a college or uni can she apply for students halls
When you state budget that’ll help guide answers

Maighnuad · 05/06/2025 22:01

800 including bills.
thank you so much for your feedback.

ok, that’s a v tight budget . Probably renting in zone 3, 4, 5
try right move , spare room
is she eligible for student halls? Halls are always cheaper
As a general allow @45min door to door for most journeys

Octavia64 · 05/06/2025 22:26

Yeah that’s a very tight budget for London.
try OpenRent or spare room.com

I’d look at places around London Borough of Richmond (very safe area) perhaps Whitton, Twickenham, Isleworth, St Margaret’s, Mortlake, Barnes, or Kingston upon Thames and even Chiswick. Easy travel into central London in about 45min.

Maybe being a lodger would work as that could be cheaper.

Lovetoplan2 · 06/06/2025 20:41

There are some places in that area - can avoid high cost of travel.

Richmond and Chiswick are premium areas nice as you say but not cheap
