Going to London this Saturday - hit me with exhibition suggestions

Hi, I am going to London this Saturday (will be free to sightsee from about 9-5). I know I read about an exhibition recently that I'd really like to see, but stupidly didn't make a note of what it was and now I can't find anything that rings a bell on any what's on sites. I feel like it would probably have been photography and possibly something to do with architecture or costume, and maybe only on for the first half of the year.

In the absence of any clues to what my original idea was, I'm currently thinking of going to the 80s photography exhibition at the Tate Britain and the Peter Mitchell exhibition of photos of Leeds (a place I used to know quite well) at the Photographers' Gallery in Soho.

Does anyone who lives/works/sightsees in London have (a) any suggestions for what the lost idea might have been or (b) any other recommendations for something to see or do, preferably free or inexpensive?

Cartier at the v&a? Not free mind! I enjoyed the treasures gallery at the British library, only a small one but right by Euston if you're that way.

Not free, but their exhibitions are usually excellent.

The free galleries at the V&A are also fab.

There is a face magazine exhibition on

Second @Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky's suggestion. I went with my partner last week and it's brilliant. It's at the National Portrait Gallery.

We also went to the Sony World Photographer of the Year at Somerset House. My advice would be don't bother with that unless you're seriously into the reportage style of photography.

Thanks, everyone! I don't think any of those is the thing I can't remember, but the Edwardian think in particular sounds like my kind of thing and I'll fit it in if I can.

Hello. I highly recommend the Frameless exhibition in Marble Arch. I went to see it last month. It is truly immersive. Enjoy.😊 frameless.com/

The Lee Bowery exhibition at the Tate Modern is brilliant.

There’s a really good exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery on The Face Magazine. It’s a real cultural trip through the 80s, 90s and 2000.

Grayson Perry at Wallace Collection. Leigh Bowery and 80s are excellent
