Hi all, we are a young couple with a one year old baby girl, currently renting in Ealing. I work in Paddington and husband in wgc and we are therefore willing to buy a 3/4 bed house somewhere in between where the commute is okayish for both of us. Other requirements are good state primaries (sec bonus), safe areas with Good high street. Diverse population is a bonus as we are immigrants. We have looked into Barnet/ southgate, potters bar, wgc, st albans, watford (hertford/ware would be too much for commute to Paddington)
The dilemma
- we have an accepted offer around 770ish on a property in st albans (potters field) - decent house (though scope for extension/ improvement) and potential catchment of bernard heath (though seems to be varying by year; could be dicey as well)
- another property shortlisted is next to nascot wood, more area but more expensive, 860ish townhouse though definite catchment of the school
which one to prefer? Pros and cons? We like st albans and the cassiobury area as well but are the schools standard really that different between bernard heath vs nascot? Making a decision is proving to be so very difficult, would appreciate your wisdom! TIA!
