Lovely little encounter

I went to dinner with dh and kids today and had such a wonderful encounter with an older couple sitting next to us. They talked to my daughter about working hard at school. Showed us a beautiful picture of their dog. They were so kind it made me realize there is kindness left in this world of daily hustle and bustle. It was a rough week, and it seems like whenever I’m driving anywhere, be it school pick up or local tesco run, everyone is annoyed, rushing and just trying to win at something 🤷🏻‍♀️ (it’s exhausting). Our dinner encounter somehow gave me hope that there are people out there who are genuinely kind and caring. 🙌

Not everyone hates children and there’s a lot of kind people in this world. DH and I often speak to children sitting near us. We’ve also had children come and stand at our table with their parents permission. On occasions they’ve also sat with us. We don’t mind as we have grandchildren and we were once parents to young children 🥰

I went to an event at 8m pregnant, and in the interval I heard the elderly couple in front of me talking about me. Suddenly they turned around and the man said to me "I don't know if you're thinking about breastfeeding -"

AH, OK, I thought. I do know what's coming next.

"- don't ever let anyone make you feel uncomfortable. Go ahead and feed your baby wherever and whenever your baby needs." He went on to talk about my dh's responsibility to support me in this, as his wife nodded along happily.

Well, that was a pleasant surprise!😊
