Where has common sense gone?

I don't know if it's just been a rubbish week or if I've just met people with no common sense but either way I'm so done.
I've seen people walk into the road because they were too busy texting, people shouting at their kids for bumping into someone whilst the parent was stood on the curb taking a selfie (so not paying attention to her child). Just now I've seen people swing car doors open as cars go past.
I know these are minor but it's nearly daily I'm spotting this. People seem so unaware of their surroundings. I don't know what's led us to be like zombies walking round.

I think I know what you mean. I think there's been an outbreak of tetchiness and selfishness - the amount of bad driving I've seen and the number of car horns I've hear is way beyond the norm. Plus people just stopping and completely blocking the pavement to all others to take pix - as if everyone else was either invisible or pond life that didn't need to be taken in to account.

When I was last in NY I was amazed that there weren't more pedestrians hit by cars as they just seemed to walk into traffic like it wasn't there!
People are idiots all over, it's certainly not just London.
