Noodle Time for Chinese food.

LewishamLass · 19/08/2024 17:46

Goddards pie and mash 😁

LewishamLass · 19/08/2024 17:50

If you want a 'posh' meal you have to go out of the town centre to either Guildford Arms in Guildford Grove or Cutty Sark on Ballast Quay - both gastro pubs .
Trafalgar Tavern has great views but quite standard pub grub.

Saschka · 19/08/2024 17:52

Type of food and budget would be really helpful here OP!

Tai Won Mein does great, cheap noodles. The Old Brewery, The Trafalgar, Greenwich Tavern and Kings Arms all do decent pub food/roasts. The market does good street food/takeaway on a weekend.

Saschka · 19/08/2024 17:54

There are also your standard chains like Zizzi, Byron, GBK, Franco Manca

The Ashburnam Arms does a great roast on Sundays!

AuntieDolly · 19/08/2024 18:00

Had a great value meal at zizzi, on the terrace right by the river

QAOPspaceman · 19/08/2024 18:15

Tai Won Mein udon noodles and a drink: instant happiness

orangetree1999 · 19/08/2024 18:18

Thanks all - we're getting pie and mash for one of the meals.

Will look at all the recommendations for the other.

Will consider any type.... budget... mid range I guess.

The Yacht and The Plume of Feathers are great pubs with decent food offerings too.

The Sail Loft

Really lovely.

Loved it here. We had the sandwiches and chips and they were great. I adore Greenwich.

Sail Loft and the Oystercatcher, both on the river. Venture a 10 minute walk down Creek road to The Watergate, really nice atmosphere and great food and drinks. Tai Won Mein for noodles and a few chains like Bills, Tortilla, Sticks n Sushi, pizza and Mexican places.

There's a nice cheese and wine place at the entrance to the market.Zaibatsu,East Greenwich had amazing sushi but it's been closed for refurbishment for a while now. Mostly Youngs pubs around Greenwich.

nomchonge1 · 20/08/2024 09:18

Old Brewery for al fresco dining (pub grub but cute courtyard and also near Royal Naval College). You could also get some street food from Greenwich Market and take it to the park or eat it by the river. For amazing takeaway coffee go to 15grams or Paul Rhodes. The latter also great for baked goods (better than gails which always has massive queue)

orangetree1999 · 20/08/2024 19:01

Thanks again for all of these.
